Cody Conner

I am proud to call Virginia Beach home. This city is rich with history, has breathtaking landscapes, and a powerfully diverse community. Virginia Beach welcomes everyone. It is vital that we have leaders in office who protect what makes us great.

We are at our best when we take care of each other, no matter your tax bracket, your creed, religion, who you love, or how you express your truth. This means leaders who fight for a city that is livable, workable, and accessible for everyone.

I have over two decades of experience in facilities, trades, and management. When I talk about jobs and homes, I’m speaking from hands-on experience. I’ve lobbied our school board, and city council and I’ve volunteered with our non-profits because I truly love this city. I am ready to fight for what I love. Let’s take care of each other. Let’s get to work.

Connected

A good transportation system is more than just a way to get to work. For many, it is a connection to opportunity and a better life. Comprehensive Public transportation promotes equity. Investment in public transportation increases economic activity, creates jobs, and is better for the environment. A Connected Virginia Beach is a Stronger Virginia Beach.

Affordable

You can’t discuss affordability without talking about housing.  While low-income housing is often the primary focus, it is just a small part of the solution. Housing affordability has rapidly become the largest challenge for middle-class families. The solution is more than just building more affordable apartments. We must increase our overall housing inventory and tailor that inventory to the needs of our city. Housing is more than just shelter; it is a fundamental part of healthcare. We also need to make sure that the jobs available in Virginia Beach pay enough for people to live here. I will work to provide better housing, better jobs, and a more affordable Virginia Beach.

Protected

Virginia Beach is one the safest and best places to live in the United States. That is due to the public workers that protect our city. Whether it is Public Works, Police, Fire, or EMS our city workers have shown that they are extremely invested in and committed to making our city a great place to live. They deserve the same level of investment and commitment from our city that they give to it. As a member of City Council, I will make sure we take care of the people that take care of us.

Educated

The most powerful driver in creating a skilled workforce and opportunities for our children is a strong public school system. Our schools should be safe places to learn and great places to work. This requires prioritizing our schools and the incredible people who teach and work in them. Our teachers deserve a voice and our children deserve well-funded schools. I will fight to make sure Virginia Beach Schools and educators have the resources they need to provide our children with the best education and educational environment.
